Liu Guoqiang, the son of the founder of International Congress of Liu fellowship, recently visited Pingdingshan to worship his ancestors. The Vice Mayor, Li Jianwei, welcomed him on April 18, 2011.

During the visit, Liu investigated the core area of industries in Pingdingshan in order to contribute to its development.

Liu Nanhui, the father of Liu Guoqiang, is the vice president of Malaysia-China Industry and Commerce association. He initiated the International Congress of Liu fellowship in 1997 to call on all the people with the surname Liu in the world to spread Han culture. Guang Wu Emperor Liu Xiu, of the Eastern Han Dynasty (A.D.25- A.D.220), was buried in Henan province so Liu Nanhui and his sons always visited to investigate the family roots.

Liu Nanhui has made great contributions to promote the friendly connection between the two countries and has supported the economic development of the motherland and Henan province. He was able to convince people to raise more than 10 million yuan to build the Garden of the early Liu ancestors in Pingdingshan which has become the rising cultural tourist attraction.

Li Jianwei, the vice mayor, expressed his gratitude toward Liu Nanhui. He invited Liu Guoqiang to come back to visit Pingdingshan frequently and offer more valuable advice to develop Pingdingshan.
