The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, and originated from the Shang Dynasty (c. 16th century-11th century BC). It is still an occasion for reunions among friends and family, with people enjoying eating mooncakes and appreciating the full moon.
Among many regional cultural customs, Neixiang county in Nanyang, Henan province, has found unique ways to celebrate the festival, including through special comic performances featuring actors in traditional costumes and 4D movies.
Comprising of 10 dramas, the performances include Welcome Guests, Spreading Imperial Edicts, and Magistrate on Court, which will be the highlight. In addition, 4D movies based on good governance will be presented.
The performances will be held on Sept 15, and will last for two days. It is expected to be a cultural feast for the audience and a good way to promtraditional holidays.
