The Nanyang city government in Henan province has come up with a plan to provide a 10,000-yuan ($1,544) subsidy for any farmer who decides to buy a house in the urban area, the local land and property center reports on March 15.
Any farmer who signs or has signed a purchase agreement in the July 9, 2015 - Dec 31, 2016 period, for a common house that is no more than 144 square meters in size and is in the downtown area, can apply for the subsidy.
Nanyang is the first city in Henan to grant this type of subsidy to farmers as part of its new type of urbanization.
