Policy publicity grassroot tour win praises in Wancheng district

The policy publicity grassroot tour arrived at Dongguan Residential Community of Wancheng district in Nanyang on July 24. More than 1,000 community cadres enjoyed the cultural feast.

Themed as "Belief, Faith, Trust", the publicity tour combined theory with literature and art to promote the innovation theories, development achievements and policies of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The performers are from the locally well-known Black Land Art Troupe of Nanyang's Hongniwan town. Though the troupe is composed of common people, its professional team members and varied programs are highly acclaimed by the masses. With the support of CPC communities at all levels, more than 200 grassroot art troupes spring up in Henan province, bringing CPC's latest policies to the masses through pop arts.

Promoting the Party's theory on the stage by literature and art is a new attempt under the new situation and a bridge linking the masses and governments. The programs selected by the publicity department of Wancheng district committee were performed for more than 20 times and local people identified them with their daily life and found easy to understand.

The success of publicity campaigns depends on the support of local governments. According to Ding Zhen, head of cultural work station in Nanyang's Lihe village, not only does the local government allocate more than 20,000 yuan ($3,222) every year to update the stage properties, instruments and costumes, but it also organizes activities to raise money for program optimization.
