On November 6, the cashmere product market in Qinghe county, Xingtai city was overflowing with people. Businessmen, tourists and scholars from all over the country gathered in the “Capital of Cashmere” for shopping, sightseeing and relaxation. In front of factories and retail shops, there were throngs of people. Five times as much cashmere was sold as on usual days.
“We not only can buy cheap, good cashmere products here, but also can learn the history of Qinghe in a short time” and “there are many perfect tourist routes that save trouble and time,” exclaimed many tourists in Qinghe. This tourist cultural festival centers on the core elements of tourism, including “food, accommodation, travel, shopping and entertainment” and includes tourist, shopping and cultural activities to give tourists an in-depth understanding of the unique connotations of the cashmere culture and the rich tourist landscape of Qinghe. During the tourist cultural festival, the daily sales amounts for particular manufacturers and shops exceeded RMB200,000 and the daily average sales amount for the manufacturers and stores was RMB50,000~60,000, increasing by five folds the usual time.
The cashmere tourist cultural festival was jointly organized by the Qinghe County Government and the Xingtai Municipal Tourism Administration, and undertaken by the Qinghe Cashmere Product Market Management Committee. The theme is “Integrate Tourism Resources and Build a Famous Place of Cashmere Tourist Culture.” The first Qinghe cashmere tourist cultural festival is a grand event concerning Qinghe cashmere. The event will further raise the popularity and reputation of Qinghe cashmere.
On November 7, Qinghe also held a discussion on developing cashmere tourist culture to help economic growth and urban construction. The experts from related ministries and commissions under the State Council gave their precious little opinions.
