Wuqing is situated in North China's alluvial plains in the middle & lower reaches of Haihe River. It has the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in the east, Longfenghe River in the north, and the original path of Longfenghe River in the west. The district has a plain terrain, good geological structure, rich vegetation and fertile land. It also has petroleum, natural gas, coal and other mineral resources. It has 14 scenic spots, including Dahuangpu Wetland Nature Reserve, Gangbei Forest Park and Yangcun Small World, too, and a green area of about 40 percent.

Wuqing Development Area (UDA) has a unique advantage in transportation. Apart from being located between Beijing and Tianjin, it has several important railway lines running through it such as the Beijing-Shanhaiguan, Beijing-Kowloon, Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Ji county, and Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway. It also has State-level trunk highways and expressways, including Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu, Beijing-Shanghai, Tianjin-Baoding and the No 112 Expressway.

Wuqing has completed the network of "nine vertical and nine horizontal roads" and complex modern 3D transportation system, with density of roads up to 148.7 km/100 sq km. A drive of 15 minutes at the most from any village will lead one to an expressway either to Beijing or Tianjin.

The global industry is undergoing its fourth transfer tide. Beijing and Tianjin have become the new focus of national and regional economic development. Tianjin has created a new model of transfer, reform and adjustment with structural adjustment as its key point. Traditional industry has risen and reached the optimum level, the scale and proportion of hi-tech industry have increased, and electronic information, bio-technology and pharmaceuticals, new energy and chemical industries have advanced greatly. All this has provided powerful policies and support for Wuqing's development.

Under this special development background, the Wuqing Development Area Administration Commission conducts close-end management with the Wuqing Administrative Permission Center, Customs, Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and the International Bonded Logistics Park. There are complete supporting functional facilities, including large business office buildings, star hotels, apartments - including those for experts - clubs, bilingual international school and supermarkets.

The area also has many service organizations including monetary, law and financial institutes. All these, along with the "11 accesses" provide powerful support and security for regional development.

With featured investment promotion and advanced service consciousness, as well as one-stop official business and service, Wuqing has its own advantages. It will make full use of its location and policy advantages, and build a first-class investment environment with new mechanisms, high-standard infrastructure and supporting facilities. It will also build Wuqing into a hi-tech, efficient and continuously advancing modern science and technology city.
