Hangzhou enterprises nearly account for half of Zhejiang's Top 100

2010-July-19

Three groups of successful Zhejiang enterprises were announced July, 18. Zhejiang Materials Industry Group Corporation, Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company and China Plastics City topped "100 enterprises in Zhejiang 2010", "Manufacturing industry 100 enterprises in Zhejiang 2010" and "Service industry 100 enterprises in Zhejiang 2010" respectively.

Hangzhou topped the list as far as the enterprise number is concerned, followed by Ningbo (27 enterprises) and Shaoxing (17 enterprises). The three cities accounted for 84 percent of the total. Hangzhou and Ningbo are emerging as the economic center of Zhejiang province.

According to Zhejiang vice governor Jin Deshui, who addressed the announcing conference, knowledge and technology are becoming more and more important for enterprises during the time of reforming. Hu Jiqiang, chairman of Zhejiang Conba, suggested that, for an enterprise to reform, it must first figure out how to make your product special and attractive to consumers, despite price war.

According to Cheng Huifang, a consultant for Zhejiang provincial government, "the future for enterprises lies in cutting cost and improving efficiency." And she found that Zhejiang enterprises had a good beginning. "In the past, people tend to view Zhejiang enterprises as small-sized, but in our latest statistics, Zhejiang will have enterprises of 10 billion-size, 50 billion-size or even larger." She also listed standards, independent brands and marketing networks as three indispensable elements for the growth of enterprises.
