The general office of the Guizhou government ordered 53 government departments to publish last year's financial accounts and "three public consumptions" on the department website by October 20.
The so-called "three public consumptions" include vehicle purchases and maintenance, overseas trips and official receptions.
As of Monday, four departments had published their consumption reports. The provincial education department's "three public consumptions" last year totaled 30.59 million yuan ($5.00 million), with expenditures on vehicle purchases and maintenance accounting for 57 percent. The Guizhou Safety Supervision Bureau spent 965,500 yuan on public consumption last year. Vehicle maintenance accounted for 70 percent.
Meanwhile, last year's "three public consumptions" for the Guizhou Environmental Protection Bureau and the Guizhou Meteorological Bureau totaled 7.62 million yuan and 959,100 yuan, respectively. The environmental protection bureau mainly spent money on research on mutual exchange and cooperation, and the meteorological bureau had no expenses for overseas trips.
