Starting June 1, Guizhou began giving employees heat allowances, reported the Labor and Social Security Department of Guizhou province.
The regulation states that employees shall be given heat allowances when working under natural high temperatures (35 C).

Workers engaged in operations under high temperature weather can get an extra 8 yuan ($1.31) per day.
Part-time workers can get an extra 1 yuan per hour.
The wage of normal working hours and the minimum wage standard does not include the heat allowance.
If working hours are shortened because of the high temperature, their wages cannot be reduced.
