A Guiyang municipal economic conference held on July 23 revealed the city's GDP reached 84.1 billion yuan ($13.7 billion) in the first half of the year, a year-on-year growth of 16.2 percent, making it the city in Guizhou with the fastest growth, Guizhou Daily reported.
Guiyang's primary industry increased by 3.64 billion yuan in the first half year, up by six percent year-on-year, the secondary industry increased by 34.7 billion yuan, or 18.9 percent increase, and the tertiary industry by 45.7 billion yuan, or 14.8 percent.
The added value of the city's industrial companies with an annual income of more than 20 million yuan ($3.26 m) reached 26.2 billion yuan, up 17.3 percent year-on-year, 3.4 percentage points higher than the provincial average. The added value of the city's industrial parks totaled 20.37 billion yuan, accounting for 77.5 percent of the total industrial value added of companies with annual income of more than 20 million yuan.
Guiyang continues to expand investment and its fixed asset investment totaled 144.9 billion yuan in the first half year, increasing by 16.6 percent year-on-year. In addition, private investment reached 84 billion yuan, up by 30.8 percent year-on-year, and the investment in the tertiary industry reached 96.8 billion yuan, a 24.5 percent increase over the previous year.
The per capita disposable income for urban residents in Guiyang reached 12,079 yuan, an increase of 9.7 percent year-on-year.
