Families in Baipeng town’s Xinxuchang in Liuzhou have developed a novel way of making a living by producing birdcages. The popularity of birdcage-making among residents has dubbed the place “birdcage village” and is renowned in the area.

35-year-old Liang Haiyang is not only a birdcage producer, but also an export sales manager in Xinxuchang. He sells more than 15,000 birdcages to places across the country every month. To make birdcages more beautiful and functional, and achieve good sales, Liang always creates new types of birdcages, with two or three different types each year. So far, he has created a dozen new birdcages.

Xinxuchang can produce more than 40,000 birdcages every month. To calculate with the unit price of 20 yuan ($3.2), its production value can reach over 800,000 yuan per month and more than 10 million yuan per year.
