Professor Qin Yinghong from Guangxi University has been included in the "career-long impact" category - as well as in the "single year impact" category for 2019 - of a list of the world's top scientists which was recently published by Stanford University.

Qin Yinghong was born in Donglan county, Hechi city, and received his doctorate from Michigan Tech University in August 2011. He has presided over two projects for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, focusing on the research of national major projects in permafrost regions and the international issue of urban heat islands. He has published 50 SCI papers as first author, and has been cited in more than 2,000 SCI papers.

The Stanford list selected the world's top 2 percent of scientists from nearly seven million candidates, divided into 22 fields and 176 specializations. The selection was also divided into two ranking lists: one looked at the scientists' career-long performance, while another looked at the scientists' single year impact in 2019.
