As of July 27, the 10 tunnels in the second branch of the Du'an-Bama Expressway, which are distributed within 18.75 kilometers of the main line, have been fully completed, laying a solid foundation for the opening of the expressway in 2021.
The Du'an-Bama Expressway is a key expressway project between the two counties in Guangxi, and is also one of the country's largest expressway projects with an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) operation mode.
EPC means that the general contractor of the project undertakes the design, procurement, construction, and trial operation services of the project in accordance with the contract, and is fully responsible for the quality, safety, construction period, and cost of the project.
The main line of the expressway is 119.129 kilometers in length and the total investment budget is 16.55 billion yuan ($2.39 billion). As of the end of July, it has completed an investment of 11.5 billion yuan, accounting for 70 percent of the total investment.
