Dahua Yao autonomous county in Hechi has recently made it to the national model city list for e-commerce growth in rural areas. The honor will bring the county further fiscal subsidy of 20 million yuan ($3.03 million).

Making e-commerce a new approach for the county's targeted poverty alleviation, Dahua has cultivated 43 logistics express companies, nine microenterprises in electronic commerce and 33 distribution centers for agricultural materials.

Meng Guiying, a farmer from a poor village in Qibainong town is one of the many beneficiaries of the growth. She no longer has to worry about the sales of her 90-mu (6 hectares) due to the convenient electronic business channels.

"I opened my phone and went on WeChat. In merely two deals and in no time I sold out 200 kilograms of grapes worth 1,600 yuan," Meng said to the Guangxi Daily reporter on Sept 15.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
