Hechi's Nandan county witnessed the start of the Tour of Hongshui River Cycle Race being held from Dec 23-29.

The seven-day cycling race started in Nandan county on Dec 23 and will end in Du'an Yao autonomous county on Dec 29, spanning 415 kilometers over seven sections.

The stunning route traverses beautiful scenery and treacherous conditions, winding through numerous tea plantations, forests, lakes, terraces, villages and streams.

A total of 100 athletes have taken up the challenge and joined the fierce competition, ten of which are from the city of Hechi.

Foreign competitors, including those from the United States and Vietnam, have also made the long journey here to demonstrate their cycling strength in the 165,600 yuan contest.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
