The Bainiaoyan Scenic Spot in the Bama Yao autonomous county has closed for 17 days due to flood risk during the rainy season, Hechi Daily quoted scenic spot official Su Youlin as saying on July 27.

According to Li Yaqin, deputy director of Hechi tourism development committee, some other scenic destinations that require travelling by boat such as Sanmenhai Scenic Spot in Fengshan will also close if the water level reaches the alarming levels during the flood season. "After all, tourists' personal safety is the most important thing," underlined Li.

Hechi has recently experienced heavy rain lasting for days. Local tourism faces challenges due to transport safety and possible geological disasters.

The city has conducted a fact-finding inspection in 25 A-level scenic spots, 183 rural home inns and 50 star hotels to identify potential hazard areas. As a result of the examination, 15 potential geological hazards sites were identified. Effective safety measures are being taken to avoid any possible casualties.
