Free tickets to Haibin Swimming Pool are up for grabs for Zhanjiang residents from April 26 to 28.

The giveaway is part of the swimming bath's promotion drive to attract more visitors during the upcoming Labor's Day holiday (April 30 to May 2).

The swimming pool has long been popular among visitors as being the only outdoor swimming pool in Guangdong with sea water. It also facilitates various fitness programs such as roller-skating and water sports.

The pool is designated as a training place for provincial swimmers and its facilities were upgraded with state-of-the-art water purification systems last year, in preparation for the 14th Guangdong Provincial Games.

Swimming in the sea water is deemed beneficial to one's metabolism and can help with pain relief, microelement absorption and immunity enhancement, according to Yao Hong'en, professor at the Capital University of Physical Education and Sports.

The pool opens thrice-daily, from 6:00-11:30 in the morning, 2:30-5:30 in the afternoon and 5:30-9:30 in the evening.
