Zhanjiang Party Secretary Liu Xiaohua and Mayor Wang Zhongbing called on Fenyong New and High-Tech Development Zone to seize the opportunity to forge itself into a new economic growth engine in Zhanjiang during a visit on June 8.

The development zone has so far signed 24 projects with a total investment of 7.31 billion yuan ($1.18 billion). The annual output value is expected to reach 11.89 billion yuan.
The construction of the 14 projects, out of 24 signed, have already commenced while seven of them are currently engaging in trial productions.
Liu Xiaohua pointed out that Fenyong should allocate enough construction land for enterprises and develop two or three key industries. He also encouraged innovation in technology, circular economy, management system and supporting policies.
Fenyong should provide excellent infrastructure, services and environment for enterprises that settled in the Zone and attract more qualified and high-skilled personnel, Liu added.
Mayor Wang Zhongbing urged Fenyong to give full play to its advantages and attract more investors, offering quality services.
Wang hoped Fenyong could drive the whole region's economic development and become "the second new economic growth pole in Zhanjiang".
