Jingyuan county, Baiyin city, Gansu province opened its first Suning direct-sales store on Nov 6, marking the launch of its rural e-commerce project.

The Suning direct-sales store, supported by e-commerce giant Suning Commerce Group, enables customers to have offline experience before an online purchase and also provides one-stop shopping, according to Shan Yifeng, manager of the Gansu Suning Yunshang Sales Co.

Jingyuan county is expecting to publicize noteworthy local products such as lamb, Chinese jujubes and wolfberry through an e-commerce platform such as Sunning E-commerce, said Ma Yuan, the vice director of the county.

The vice director presided at the opening ceremony of the Suning store and introduced Jingyuan's e-commerce operating center, innovation incubator, logistics center and offline trade zone.

"We are looking forward to expanding the market and boosting sales of our products by developing e-commerce, and achieving our goal of alleviating poverty," Ma added.
