A road to the Yellow River Stone Forest scenic area, in the city of Baiyin, Gansu province opened, on Dec 12, running for 23 kilometers, from the village of Hong Xiantai, to the province’s S217, then K29, and passing through low mountains and hills and the Nao Quansha River, before reaching the scenic area.

Construction work on it began on July 23, 2013, and cost 365 million yuan. It has a speed limit of 60km/h to 80km/h.

The Yellow River Stone Forest scenic area is a national geographic park and AAAA tourist attraction, but its bad roads hindered tourism in the past, so the new road is expected to improve that a lot.
