Dunhuang city in Northwest China’s Gansu province released a series of policies to promote its winter tourism market on Nov 26.
Gansu residents can now enter Dunhuang’s Minsha Mountain, Yumen Pass and Dunhuang Yardang National Geological Park free of charge until March 31, 2017. A further discount will be given to Chinese university students visiting Dunhuang’s Mogao Caves during the student winter holiday period from Jan 1, 2017, to Feb 28.
Apart from the entrance tickets discount, Duhuang also released a series of special winter activities to lure visitors. For instance, six shows, including the ballet dance show Swan Lake, will be staged at Dunhuang Theatre.
According to local authorities, Dunhuang has a goal to increase visitor numbers by 20 percent this winter-spring period, compared with the same period last year.
