A ground breaking ceremony for the Sino-Germany Industrial Park was held in Lanzhou new district on Nov 6.

Huang Xuanping,Gansu's provincial political advisory body , attended the launch ceremony.

The park is built on an area of 2000 mu (about 133 hectares) and is expected to receive a total investment of 8 billion yuan ($1.18 billion).

The construction plan reveals that the park will be constructed in six years and have an annual output of 30 billion yuan once in operation. More importantly, the new industrial park is expected to create more than 8,000 new jobs, bringing economic and social benefits to Gansu province.

According to authorities in Lanzhou, the Lanzhou new district administrative committee signed a cooperation agreement with China Shaanxi DOFCM Business Office (Germany) in April. The agreement aims to boost the cooperation between China and Germany.

Niu Xiangdong, deputy mayor of Lanzhou city, delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony and said the new industrial park will play a significant role in promoting global cooperation on production capacity.
