Tongwei county in Gansu's Dingxi city is looking to the future by developing clean energy as a sustainable way of providing energy access to its residents. Authorities hope the drive towards sustainable development will further its efforts to eradicate poverty.

In recent years, Weitong has cooperated with China Huaneng Group to construct a wind power base, creating a nation-standard clean energy demonstration base for poverty alleviation.

As of now, wind turbines with a total capacity of 300,000 kilowatts have started operation in Gansu.

As a key project to cut the poverty in Tongwei, the wind power base is expected to help create job opportunities, promote the tourism industry and economy.
