Gansu, Israel promote agricultural science cooperation

Gansu and Israel recently signed a memorandum to conduct cooperation in agricultural science.

According to the Gansu Provincial Science and Technology Department, the two sides will cooperate in water source management, agriculture waste management and food processing. They will also conduct symposiums and talent training activities.

According to Ouyang Chunguang, an official from the Gansu Provincial Science and Technology Department, a delegation group from Gansu will visit Israel to investigate its new fish farm technology to help Gansu promote its fishing industry and deal with its lack of water resources.

The cooperation memorandum revealed that Lanzhou University and will cooperate with an agriculture science research institution from Israel to recycle agriculture waste.

Researchers from Israel investigated Gansu prior to the deal to scope out areas of cooperation in agriculture laboratory construction.

"Israel owns advanced agriculture technology," said Ouyang. Gansu will make efforts to promote two sides' cooperation, he added.
