Cooperative helps farmers shake off poverty

The 32 low income families in Caoyingzi village, Dangchang county, Longnan city, Gansu province received a year-end bonus from the local cooperative on Jan 29.

With more than 300,000 yuan ($45,600) of raised funds and support of the local Party branch and e-commerce companies, the 32 households joined in the local farmers' specialized cooperative in May 2015 to raise chickens.

The cooperative has made profits after nearly one year of management.
