Gansu villagers form scout to prevent illegal hunting, rescue rare animals

Yang Qinran, founder of a volunteer game scout in the Baishuijiang National Nature Reserve, are on patrol in the reserve in Wenxian county, northwest China's Gansu province, Sept 23, 2015. The volunteer game scout, which was founded 13 years ago and is mainly comprised of local villagers, has 23 members who carry out field patrol, prevent illegal hunting and rescue rare animals regularly. The Baishuijiang National Nature Reserve, the largest one in area among China's 55 giant panda protection zones, is a home to 110 pandas. [Xinhua/Chen Bin] |
