Gansu holds ceremony to welcome Buddhist relics

Monks celebrating a takeover ceremony of Buddhist relics in the city of Pingliang, on Aug 28. Jingchuan county, in Gansu province held the ceremony for the receipt of four Buddhist relics that were removed in 1964 from Jingchuan to the provincial museum. The county had many Buddhist relics unearthed there and wants to reclaim its name as an important site on the Silk Road. [Photo/xinhuanet.com] |
