Horse race kicks off in Aksai county

Aksai Kazakh autonomous county held a horse race on March 15. The county is located in Northwest China's Gansu province and is home to many Kazakh people.

Aksai county is trying to promote tourism and attract more visitors by making horse racing a popular and regular activity.

Horse racing is one of the traditional sports of the Kazakh ethnic group as the Kazakh people live a nomadic life. The Kazakh people start to ride at around five years old. They have created various activities related to horse racing, such as a riding activity where they scramble for a sheep.
