And the Dunhuang International Industry Alliance, together with Lanzhou Yiputianyuan Eco-Technology Co and other Gansu companies signed cooperation contracts with Taiwan cultural and creative organizations, and a company from Beijing, during the ceremony.

The cross-Strait cultural and creative industry base was set up to promote cooperation and communication between Gansu province and Taiwan by organizing exchange activities, conferences and educational trainings, providing project consultancy services and all kinds of services. It will be jointly managed by the companies from Taiwan, Beijing, and Gansu province which will invest 30 million yuan ($4.89 million) into the base.

The project’s aim is to put into practice the proposition raised by President Xi Jinping concerning the development of the Silk Road Economic Belt, which is an economic cooperation area connecting the northwest of China with western Asian countries.

In addition, the success of the cultural and creative industry base will exert a profound influence on strengthening good relationships between Gansu province and Taiwan. It is also expected to further develop the cultural tourism resources in Gansu and drive the marketization, specialization, and internationalization of local cultural and creative industries through learning from the successful experiences of Taiwan’s cultural and creative industry.
