Kazakhstan's Davidenok crowned in 13th Tour of Qinghai Lake

LANZHOU, China, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Ilya Davidenok of Kazakhstan's Continental Team Astana (AS2) won the 13th Tour of Qinghai Lake cycling race that concluded on Saturday.

Davidenok managed to keep the yellow jersey for the leader of general individual classification from the fourth stage till the end. He was also awarded the blue jersey which represents the best Asian rider.

Iranian rider Ghader Mizbani of Tabriz Petrochemical Team (TPT) grabbed the polka-dot jersey as the best climber. [ Mykhaylo Kononenko of Kolss Cycling Team (KLS) secured the green jersey for the sprint leader. He claimed best sprinter five times in the 13-stage race that lasted 14 days.

The last stage was a five-lap circuit race in Lanzhou, capital city of China's Gansu Province, covering a total distance of 91 kilometers.

Six Chinese cycling teams competed in this year's Tour of Qinghai Lake, which put up "only average performance," said Wang Xianzhong, head of Qinghai Sports Competitions Administration Center.

This year's Tour of Qinghai Lake covers 3,591 kilometers, with the average altitude reaching 2,265 meters above sea level and the maximum standing at 3,858 meters.
