Lanzhou, capital of Northwest China’s Gansu province, aims to build a center and four parks for high-technologies, and realize sales revenue of 20 billion yuan ($3.25 billion), Lanzhou Evening News reported on March 12.

According to a memo from Lanzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce to Lanzhou municipal people’s government, the city will establish an innovative center and four industrial parks, with the center’s exports reaching $600 million.

The city will focus on the construction of the Lanzhou National New Materials Innovative Center. The four parks will incorporate the Lanzhou New Area Industrial Park – a hi-tech electronic information products export center; and the Lanzhou Hi-tech Development Zone Yuzhong Park – a non-ferrous materials, national battery materials and battery export center.

In addition, the third industrial park, Yantan Park in Lanzhou Hi-tech Development Zone, will concentrate on the development of titanium-nickel alloys and their application in other fields. The fourth park in the plan is Lanzhou Economic Development Zone Honggu Park, a new carbon material export center specializing in graphite electrodes, high conductivity carbon bricks and advanced carbon fibers.

Lanzhou intends to bolster its economy through new material industries, expanding its industrial chain and realizing its sales income of 20 billion yuan in 2016.
