Fourteen doctors from Ukraine learned about Kongtong's martial arts at Pingliang city in Northwest China's Gansu province on Dec 29, according to Chinanews.
With roots in Taoism, Kongtong's martial arts focuses on improving physical fitness and increasing inner energy. It was named after the Kongtong Mountains, Gansu province, where the practice is based. To promote traditional medicine health care tourism in Gansu, the Gansu Public Health Department also organized activities to allow the doctors to experience traditional Chinese medicine such as acupuncture and the Yanpan bath.
Useful for maintaining a balance of physical and mental health, Chinese martial arts has attracted an increasing number of foreigners in recent years.
