Gansu adjusts medical institutions’ administrative license authority
Updated: 2013-10-14The Health Bureau of Gansu Province announced on Sept 23 that it will adjust medical institutions’ administrative license authorities.
In accordance with the adjustment, a comprehensive hospital with 500 beds or above and a special hospital with 200 beds or above should be approved by the provincial health department. Other facilities should be approved by municipal health departments and filed at the provincial health bureau.
The adjusted administrative license authorities related to medical institutions registration, checks and changes are as follows: - The provincial health administrative department is in charge of the daily supervision, registration, checks and changes of provincial-level health care institutions and tertiary medical institutions (including adding medical subjects and changing legal persons) - The health administrative departments at municipal and prefectural levels are in charge of the daily supervision, registration, checks and changes (including adding medical subjects and changing legal persons) of municipal health care institutions (except tertiary hospitals) and county-level health care institutions - The county-level health administrative departments are responsible for the daily supervision, registration, checks and changes (including adding medical subjects and changing legal persons) of township hospitals, community health service centers and clinics
In addition, the application for adding beds in provincial-level medical institutions and tertiary medical institutions will be approved by the provincial health administrative department. The medical institutions at other levels should be approved by the health and financial sectors of their same level in regards to applying for adding beds. Applications should be filed at the health and financial sectors of a higher level.
