The Pingtan Blue International Beer Festival kicked off in Pingtan in South China's Fujian province on the evening of August 26.
In addition to the range of craft beers on offer, festivalgoers were also treated to a concert featuring renowned band Bakela and a sand sculpture exhibition.
An endurance contest was also put on to help get visitors in the party mood. Each competitor had to hold a full glass of beer at arm's length, with the person able to hold the glass up for the longest crowned the winner.
Local resident Chen Jiawei won finally after holding up his pint for a full seven minutes.
"The prize of five bottles of beer gave me the power to win. Actually my arm was quite sore," he said.
A local resident surnamed Lu spoke highly of the performances while enjoying the roasted meat served onsite.
"The performances are fantastic, and so is the roasted meat! We'll spare some time to join it again," Lu said.
The event, sponsored by Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone Tourism Co, is one of a series of activities designed to promote tourism in the city. It will run every night until September 10.
