A forum themed around Pingtan's rural tourism kicked off in Beigang village on May 25, as the city seeks further development of its booming tourism industry.

A collection of experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from the mainland and Taiwan were invited to participate, jointly exploring topics including homestay construction and maintenance.

Pingtan is witnessing a rapid development of homestays in rustic fishing villages across the city in recent years and Begang village in Liushui town is an excellent example.
