A delegation headed by Li Dejin, vice governor of Fujian Provincial People's Government paid a visit to Pingtan on March 24 to investigate the latest development of the city's comprehensive pilot zone.
The group carried out site visits to several places in Pingtan during their trip, including the "Smart Island" service management center, New Silk Road Cross-border Trading Center and Beigang village.
The "Smart Island" project aims to turn Pingtan into a smart city through the use of big data, and the center functions as a platform for managing the government's service data.
Li Dejin highly affirmed the project's rapid development after visiting the center, and said Pingtan should further explore new ways of sharing data among different departments to provide the public with more efficient government services.
"Pingtan should give full play to its advantages, giving a further impetus to its cross-border trade," Li commented afterwards at the New Silk Road Cross-border Trading Center.
