Wang Na, a volunteer from Ningde, another city in Fujian province, also participated in the activity.

"Pingtan has a good environment and beautiful views and I hope our efforts can help make the city even more beautiful," said Wang.

The activity, sponsored by Pingtan's environmental bureau, is part of the city's campaign to transform itself into an international tourism island.
