A calligraphy, painting and photography exhibition featuring works of artists from Pingtan and Taiwan opened in Pingtan, Fujian province on Oct 10.
Held under the theme"magnificent Straits style",more than 300 artworks are on show, half of which are from artists from Taiwan.
Ancient stone houses, pristine beaches and local folk culture were some of the subjects expressed by artists.
Common cultural elements are naturally reflected in the works, such is the cultural similarity between Pingtan and Taiwan.
Artists created artworks on site on the day of the exhibition launch and shared their experience of creatingthe pieces.
Tsao Yuan-chang, an artist from Taiwan, hoped that Pingtan would organize more cross-Straits cultural exchanges in the future.
The show will remain open until Oct 18. Those interested in art and culture may visit the exhibition at the Jinjingwan business operation center in the Jinjiangwan area of the city.
