Pingtan Association of Taiwan-funded Enterprises, a bridge between Taiwan entrepreneurs and the Pingtan government, has played an important role in developing Pingtan into a Common Homeland for people across the Straits, said Lin Jiangling, deputy director of administrative committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province on June 20.
The remarks were made at the celebration of the association's third anniversary, which was also the occasion of its general election.
Lin said that Pingtan is a good investment choice for Taiwan entrepreneurs, due to its preferential policies and determination to develop into an international tourist destination.
The deputy director expected the association to continue to increase Pingtan's exposure among Taiwan entrepreneurs, attracting more of them to invest in the zone. She also hoped that it will help Pingtan's Taiwan businessmen to voice their opinions, to give them more opportunities.
Li Yunhui, who was reelected as head of the association, vowed that the body will make stronger efforts to promote Pingtan and lure more Taiwan entrepreneurs to expand business there.
Founded on June 18, 2013, Pingtan Association of Taiwan-funded Enterprises has been committed to serving Taiwan merchants and Pingtan's goal of becoming a Common Homeland for people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits. It has gained wider influence with the number of its membership increasing fivefold in the past three years.
