The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province hosted a friendship activity for families across the Taiwan Straits on June 13 and 14.

Over 30 families from the mainland and Taiwan took part in the two-day event, which was part of this year's Common Homeland Forum and aimed to promote exchanges between people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

The participants exchanged family cards for the convenience of future contact and gave performances for each other to enhance mutual understanding.

To gain a better understanding of Pingtan's natural landscape, customs and traditions, as well as its economy and culture, the Taiwan visitors also toured the Shipaiyang scenic spot (a sea-erosion landform), Tannan Bay, and Taiwan Innovation Park.
