The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ), Fujian province launched job fairs at Xiamen and Huaqiao universities in the city of Xiamen on May 25 and 26 to introduce the zone's talent policies to the universities' Taiwan graduates.
A group of Pingtan officials attended the job fair, with Lin Jiangling, deputy director of the PCPZ's administrative committee, saying that Pingtan offers huge opportunities thanks to its status as an experimental area for cross-Straits cooperation and a free trade zone as well as its goal of becoming an international tourist destination.
The zone welcomes graduates with Taiwan origin to work or start a business there and the local government will give them strong support, added Lin.
A total of ten companies and institutions from Pingtan also came to look for new employees offering 48 posts including teachers and financial workers.
The job fair drew great attention from Taiwan graduates. For instance, Yang Zhihua, a graduate of Xiamen University, expressed her intention to work in Pingtan, where she can make her dream come true.
Pingtan officials said that they will organize more such job fairs to attract Taiwan graduates.
