Pingtan performs well at Strait Travel Fair

The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province won two awards for excellence in organizing and pavilion design respectively at the closing ceremony of the 12th Strait Travel Fair held in Xiamen on May 8, ptnet.cn reported.
The Pingtan Pavilion covered an area of 270 square meters and had 30 booths. It focused on displaying the zone's unique tourism resources, featuring stone folk dwellings, sandy beaches, sea-erosion landforms, and many others during the five-day fair.
The pavilion also took advantage of virtual-reality technology to give visitors a real-life travel experience.
Various performances, including dancing and indoor cycling, were put on to promote the area to those attending the fair.
Chen Lin, an official of the Pingtan tourism bureau, said that they are extremely careful about organizing and take everything into consideration, aiming to give visitors the best all-round experience.
Chen Yihui, deputy director of Fujian Tourism Bureau said that Pingtan was one of the highlights at the travel fair. This year's fair covered an area of 33,000 square meters and had 1,500 booths, attracting more than 3,000 Chinese and foreign tourism exhibitors. Nearly 100,000 visitors passed through the gates during the five-day event.
