Pingtan promotes international tourist island project in Nanning

Pingtan officials, as members of the Fujian tourism delegation, took part in the 19th Cross-Straits Tourism Exchange Conference launched in Nanning, Guangxi province, on March 16, ptnet.cn reported.

The Fujian delegation had the Pingtan International Tourist Island project as its highlight and introduced it to participants on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
The officials presented Pingtan's splendid tourist resources, featuring sunshine, sand beach, sea, stone, Straits, shopping and sports. They also mentioned its large number of preferential policies, thanks to its status as both a comprehensive pilot zone and a free trade zone.
In addition, they also recommended some coastal tourism products and travel routes to attract more visitors to Pingtan.

This conference is a significant opportunity for Pingtan to increase its national exposure, said Chen Lin, an official of Pingtan tourism development bureau.
Chen added that some Nanning residents expressed their intention to travel to Pingtan just after the introduction. Those people were attracted by the area's special location close to Taiwan.
Pingtan's Liang'an International Travel Agency and Haixia High-Speed Roll-on and Roll-off Passenger Shipping Co also showed up at the conference to exchange ideas with Taiwan tourism companies on cross-Straits tourism cooperation.
