The Taiwan Innovation Park in Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province played host to 87 young people from Taiwan who came for a youth entrepreneurship forum on Jan 24, according to a local official.

The event aimed to attract more Taiwan people who harbor entrepreneurial dreams to start businesses in Pingtan. In addition to the innovation park, another sponsor of the event was the Cross-Straits Golden Bridge Business Incubator.

At the forum, the organizers invited experts to explain local talent attraction policies. Some Taiwan people who now work and live in Pingtan also shared their experiences with the participants.

Meanwhile, ten Taiwan-funded catering enterprises signed contracts with the Golden Bridge to move in the incubator.

The incubator was launched by the Fujian Cross-Straits Golden Bridge Human Resources Co in last August.

The company has the mission of attracting talented personnel from Taiwan to contribute to Pingtan's development. To reach this goal, it offers internships and entrepreneurship training to Taiwan university students and helps young entrepreneurs to start businesses in the zone, said Meng Xianting, general manager of the company.

He added that since last August, the company has invited over 180 young Taiwan entrepreneurs to visit Pingtan. And 35 of them have expressed their intention to move in the incubator.

Meng went on to say that the company also plans to build a Taiwan youth entrepreneurship project database, which is expected to be a guide for local investment attraction.

Some Taiwan people spoke highly of the company's endeavors. Ou Yanling, a participant of the forum said that he learnt a lot at the forum and he considers Pingtan a good place to work and live a quality life.
