The Taiwan Chinese Micro-entrepreneurship Development Association opened a branch in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Fujian province, on Nov 10, according to ptnet.cn.
The association, founded in 2010, offers counseling and training services as well as exchange and cooperation platforms to micro-entrepreneurs in Taiwan and on the Chinese mainland. It now has over 1,000 members.
Yan Ruian, head of the association, said that they wanted to promote exchanges and cooperation between entrepreneurs across the Straits in economic, scientific and technological innovation and culture through Pingtan.
Yang Cailin, head of the Pingtan branch, expected that this branch could play a full role in helping cross-Straits micro-entrepreneurs start their businesses and in facilitating their development by taking advantage of Pingtan's preferential policies.
