Cheongsam and golf, two of the most iconic cultural carriers from the East and West, went on a date in Pingtan county, Fujian province on July 7, local news portal ptnet.cn reports.

The romance got off the ground when a grassroots cheongsam group reached out to the Jinsanghui, an agency dedicated to promoting and teaching golf in Fujian, and invited it to a social party.

Golf has a bright prospect in Pingtan, where a plethora of reforms fostering a new economic hub have been carried out. The sport, representing a growing fashion trend, will echo with Pingtan’s ambitious goal of building an international tourist destination, said Jin Sang, founder of the golf agency.
