Staff members of a construction office at a free trade zone in Pingtan, Fujian province, are racing against time to get everything ready for the opening of operation in a few days, ptnet.cn has reported on Feb 23, which added that the Pingtan, Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone website at http://www.ptftz.gov.cn/, just recently went into operation.

The establishing of a trade zone in Fujian was announced during a meeting of the National People's Congress, back in December, consisting of three parts, in the cities of Fuzhou (31.26 sq km), Xiamen (43.78 sq km), and Pingtan (43 sq km).

The Pingtan zone, which is expected to go into operation this March, will handle three areas – a high-tech sector, a port, and leisure and tourism.

As of Feb 23, the following enterprises had been announced for the zone:

1. Pingtan Guode Medical Technology Ltd Co

2. Ocean International Culture and Art Management (Pingtan) Ltd Co

3. Pingtan Dental Hospital (Taiwanese-funded)

4. Pingtan Otolaryngology Hospital (Taiwanese-funded)

5. Pingtan Cosmetic Surgery Hospital (Taiwanese-funded)

6. Pingtan Rehabilitation Hospital (Taiwanese-funded)
