The two illegal structures that were brought down on Monday were a pig farm in Kunhu village of Zhonglou township, and a prefabricated house in Zhongwu village of Lancheng township.
The pig farm set up six sheds hidden in the woods two years ago without the proper permits. They were found during a recent inspection.
The prefabricated house, made of worn-out steel columns and covered in iron sheets, was a makeshift building set up by a steel merchant who used it as a temporary warehouse.
Authorities in Pingtan launched the demolition campaign on June 1. About 40 percent of illegal structures in Pingtan will be brought down by Sept 8.
By the end of last year, 473 illegal structures occupying an area of 49,242 square meters were found.
