A delegation from a Chinese design powerhouse visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) on Feb 20 to discuss prospects for cooperation.
The Changjiang Zhongxing Design Company - established in Pingtan in 2013 - is a joint venture of the Taiwan-based Sinotech engineering consultancy and the Changjiang Institute of Survey, Planning, Design and Research.
Li Dejin, director of PCPZ's administrative committee, said that Changjiang Zhongxing is an influential design company with advanced technologies and outstanding talents from around the world. It has previously been involved in Pingtan's development, and the island county – as part of its development as a "common homeland" - now requires support from the company in various sectors.
Cheng Weimin, the president of Changjiang Zhongxing, said that Pingtan's progress over the past few years has "made everyone confidant in its future development," and the company is engaged in designs of various engineering projects in Pingtan's Zhongyuan construction area. He also said they expect "more and deeper cooperation" with resources from both sides of the Taiwan Straits, with the aim of boosting Pingtan's development.
