Two high-ranking government officials in the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) visited a local media center on Jan 4 to increase their understanding of the development of Pingtan's media business.

Li Dejin, director of the PCPZ's administrative committee, and Xie Xiutong, director of the Party committee office of the committee, visited various media organizations at the center, including Pingtan Broadcast Television Station, the Pingtan Times office and a radio station – and they extended their New Year greetings to staff members.

Li said that the media center has built a multi-media network within a short time, and has been providing up-to-date coverage of Pingtan's development and cross-Straits relations.

He also said that the media in Pingtan should remain market-oriented, innovative and work closely to construct a comprehensive media platform in order to "guide public opinion."
